SmartAdhesives' wood, paper & fiber adhesives are high concentration adhesives formulated for versatility in labeling, packaging, insulating, and wood working. These adhesives are simple to use, non-toxic, and clean up with water.

We make all our wood, paper & fiber adhesives in concentrated form. We use 55-63% solid polymers in these products to provide high strength and versatility. All our products can be diluted with water for regular strength applications or to lower the viscosity for spray or light coating. This also means even greater value.

All our wood, paper & fiber adhesives can be compounded, meaning they can be mixed with each other and with our line of PermaTack pressure sensitive adhesives to create specialized versions (see compounding formulas).

Things to know about PVA adhesives

About PVA Adhesives

Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) based adhesives are strong, flexible, adhere to many surfaces, clean up with water, and are environmentally friendly. These adhesives have high dry strength, but generally are low in water resistance and heat resistance.

How They Work

The resins are suspended in a water solution, and as the water evaporates, the polymers crosslink to form a plastic vinyl chain that bonds to most fibers. These can be formulated with additives to create additional adhesion properties.

Tips

These adhesives require one substrate to be porous. Almost all PVA's do not handle high heat. Some, such as G1, can be reactivated by applying heat.
